Database Development: Database design, conversion, analysis and publication; Political and Census Data.; One of the mainstays of the operation of the Political Data Analysis Division has been the distilling of official data into a format which is useful for analysis and/or publication.; The tools which are used in a pc-compatible environment include: Microsoft FoxPro 2.5/2.6 for DOS/Windows; Atlas GIS for Windows; SymScript by Symbiotic Systems; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Word; Wordperfect; TIGER Boundary Translator by Micro Map and CAD; Graphics Server by Pinnacle; SPSS for DOS; and, of course, Microsoft DOS/Windows.; We are sometimes asked how we could produce some of the information which we publish. The answer is simple. With the tools listed above we can actually program, i.e., produce software code, which manipulates data in almost any way needed. The old command-driven FoxPro environment proves a flexible, and efficient, one for the development and conversion of data.
